What is VanShess? I want to work in music, and I see VanShess as a way to get hands on experience in working with talent.
At the risk of sounding corny, I also want VanShess to be a platform for exposure of art that we think sounds good or looks good.
Favorite bands of all time? Disco Biscuits, Phish, Grateful Dead, Herbie Hancock, A Tribe Called Quest, Jurassic 5...
Of course, I wouldn't be a good manager if I didn't love what my artists were creating... I love what Mission South does, Mark and I are probably their biggest fans.
Most memorable show? Disco Biscuits in NYC for NYE 2005 was an unbelievable time. This guy mega-box made the night, I need to record that guy.
Goals for 2006? I want to find a couple more bands, book shows and record the groups we already have, and I want to find some legit visual-artists to promote and expose. The long term
goal here is to learn, so in that respect we've already accomplished a great deal.
